Born and raised in San Francisco, Rosalie has always loved the beauty of bird feathers. As a child, she collected and saved molted peacock feathers that she would find in Golden Gate Park. A resident of Belmont, CA, for over 50 years, she has been creating feather masks (wearable and decorative wall pieces) for more than 40 years, selling them in New Orleans and galleries throughout the United States. Now, they are exclusively at Shady Lane. Applying one feather at a time, using only legal bird feathers, Rosalie “recycles nature” to make her one-of-a-kind feather masks.

We always call them wearable art. She creates them so they are very comfortable to wear; she lines the masks with felt and cuts out larger eye holes so it is easier to see when wearing the masks. For the rest of the year, you can hang them on the wall. Some, however, are only wall art. Rosalie's workmanship is impeccable! She was juried into some of the most prestigious art shows in the nation.
